Selena Gomez returned to work yesterday for the first time since she was rushed to hospital last Thursday.

The Disney star - wearing a pretty white blouse and tiny black shorts - looked much healthier and happier than when she was snapped at the weekend.

'I was just very malnourished, so I was low on iron and exhausted,' Selena, 18, told reporters after getting on stage to sing live at Santa Monica Place Mall.

Selena, who is busy promoting new film Monte Carlo, also took to Twitter to reassure her fans.

'Feeling much better, thank you all for being so understanding,' she Tweeted before her performance. 'Can't wait to see you all today at Santa Monica Place for the Monte Carlo kick off.'
