Singer Lily Allen admits that she still wants to be famous

Talking to a Sunday supplement, the LDN star explained her decision to leave her singing career was nothing to do with wanting to leave the spotlight, rather it was about her having lost her passion for music.

"That's why I made that decision. It was never about... I feel disgusting talking about this, because it's like, I still want to be famous, I just don't want to sing," she said.

Allen, who has recently turned her hand to the retail industry with her vintage clothes shop Lucy In Disguise, which she runs with her older sister Sarah Owen, also admitted that escaping her fame wouldn't even be financially viable, saying: "I knew I had to do something else, because I'm not wealthy enough not to work for the rest of my life. You don't get paid to be in magazines and I'm accustomed to living in a certain way. I like having my nice house and filling it with nice things."

The singer then added: "I'd like to be in that position for the rest of my life, so obviously I'm going to have to work."

The 26-year-old also put her departure from the music industry down to wanting to spend more time with fiancé Sam Cooper, who she will marry in under two weeks time in Gloucestershire.
